How to Stay Motivated and Achieve Your Fitness Goals
“I hate every minute of training. But I said, don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.” – Mohammad Ali

One week you’re pumped and ready to sweat out your frustration with a good workout, and the next week you’re finding it hard to get off the couch. We’ve all been there, super motivated to get healthy and meet our fitness goals. Then suddenly, we can’t find the energy to put on a pair of running shoes. It’s common; even for me, there are points where I’m not motivated to workout and I just want to lay in bed and watch Netflix. The problem with a fitness slump is that it can be really hard to get out of them, and it can keep us from reaching our fitness goals. But, the good news is there are ways to get out of a workout slump. So here are some ways to stay motivated when you’re in a workout slump so you can reach your fitness goals.

Vision Board

Visualization is an important personal development tool. When you know what you want and can picture yourself achieving your goals. It helps you focus, stay motivated, and committed to achieving your goals. So try creating a vision board that is related to your fitness goals. For example, if you’re looking to lose weight you can have your target weight, front, and center. Then add to it motivational quotes or images. Once you’ve finished put it in a place where you’ll be able to see it daily. Like your bathroom or inside your gym locker. It’ll help you stay motivated, committed, and focused on your fitness goal on those days when you need an extra boost.

Positive Role Models

Having a positive fitness role model can help you stay on track and make fitness a part of your everyday life. They can remind you of the importance of good health and how much it can benefit you. When looking for a role model look for someone who isn’t taking shortcuts, focused on health, and committed to their exercise routine. Your fitness role models will help you visualize what it will be like to meet your fitness goals. A person who is dedicated to exercise and always makes time for will show you that you can too no matter how busy your schedule it. So find someone motivates you to exercise and, you’ll be on your way to meeting your fitness goals.

Change Up Your Workout Routine

One thing that comes with every fitness or weight loss journey is the dreaded plateau. Your losing weight, your clothes are getting loser, and then the scale gets stuck. Hitting a plateau is a tell-tale sign that you need to change up your workout routine. Have you been doing the same thing over and over again for months? Try switching some things up by adding something new to your workout routine.

Fun Music Playlist

Sometimes finding the motivation to exercise can be harder than the workout itself. >That’s why it helps to have a playlist full of fun upbeat music to help you get in the mood to crush a workout. So whatever type of music gets you going, download it and get moving.

Reward Yourself

Putting in extra effort at the gym doesn’t mean you can reward yourself for going. It can be your favorite food or a marathon of your favorite TV show. If you’ve earned it, don’t feel guilty about doing it. Pushing through a workout slump and getting a workout in is an accomplishment. You could have chosen to skip that a day or the next. But, you got up and worked out even though you weren’t feeling up to it. It’s all about having a balance.
