Chocolate and peanut butter are made for each other. Personally, my love for the pair has a lot to do with the delectable combination of sweet and salty. These made from scratch vegan brownies with peanut butter swirls will send your taste buds in a tizzy. So if you’re in the mood for something salty and sweet give these peanut butter swirl vegan brownies a try.

Peanut Butter Swirl Vegan Brownies
Ingredients
- Nonstick Cooking Spray
- 1/3 cup of non-dairy butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup apple sauce
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons of non-dairy vanilla yogurt
- 3/4 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp of baking powder
- Pinch of baking soda
- 1/4 tsp of sea salt
- 1/3 cup of peanut butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Farenheight. Then lightly coat and 8-inch square pan with nonstick cooking spray.
- Next, in a large-size bowl combine butter, brown sugar, apple sauce, vanilla extract, and yogurt.
- Then in a separate bowl mix together the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and cocoa powder. Until well combined.
- Next, stir the dry ingredients into the wet but be careful not to overmix. After that pour the batter into the greased pan.
- Then use a spoon to add dollops of peanut butter on top of the batter. After that using a butter knife, swirl the peanut butter into the brownie batter.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until it passes the toothpick test. Then allow brownies to cool completely before cutting and serving.
Notes:
- Be careful not to over mix the peanut butter into the brownie mixture. I like to put the peanut butter in the microwave for about 30 seconds to soften it, then add it to the brownies batter.

They aren’t too different from taste when compared to non-vegan brownies. They actually remind me a lot of a Justin’s Peanut Butter Cup.
