I was selected by Melissa over at Castles and Hurricanes to participate in The Good Reading Habits Tag. She’s a lifestyle blogger who writes about a variety of things like pop culture and sustainability. This tag asks readers to share some of their good reading habits. You can check out her post and find out what her good reading habits are here. I haven’t always been an avid reader. When I was younger I hated reading, and it wasn’t until my college days that it started to grow on me. So, let’s take a look at what some of my good reading habits are.
Rules of The Good Reading Habits Tag:
- Pingback to the creator’s post!
- List some of your good reading habits, the things you think you do well
- Nominate some of your blogging friends
I give Books a Chance
When it comes to reading some books draw you in right at the start, and others take a few chapters to get interesting. So, I always try to give a book a chance before calling it quits.
I buy used Books to Support Literacy Programs
When it comes to buying books, I prefer used books over new books. Used books are cheaper than new books, and there are lots of used non-profit bookstores that support literacy programs. So, not only do I save money on books, but I also get to support literacy programs.
I’m not a Picky Reader
When it comes to books I’ll read pretty much anything. I’m an open-minded person, so if someone suggests a book to me I’ll check it out. I enjoy stepping outside of what I normally read to discover new genres, authors, and series.
I like to keep a book Handy
You never know when you’re going to end up in a situation where having a book might come in handy. That’s why I like to carry a book with me when I go out. It’s usually a small book so it can fit easily in my bag. That way, when I’m stuck in line at the DMV, I have something to do to past the time, and it doesn’t need a charge.
When I don’t know a word, I look it up
I’m tagging:
You guys don’t have to do this, but I’d love to see your answers if you do.

Interesting article, Angela. Tagging is a new TREND I guess. Even I buy used books to support literacy programs.
Tagging is a fun way of connecting with other bloggers, and that’s great.
That’s so cool that you prefer to shop at non-profit bookstores that support literacy programs! I like to shop at smaller/local bookstores whenever I can, but I haven’t looked much into their businesses to see what programs they support. I’m also very open-minded when it comes to books; I love reading anything! And you’re right-reading can definitely expand your vocabulary!
Thanks for tagging me! It looks like we have some good reading habits in common.
