Eat what you like
No one wants to eat food they don’t like. If you were to put a plate of celery in from on me, I wouldn’t eat no matter how good it was for me. Eating healthy isn’t about eating foods you don’t like, because they’re good for you. It’s about eating foods you enjoy that are good for you.
Try new foods
Don’t be afraid to try new foods and recipes. Eating the same foods every week is a sure way to get tired and bored with eating healthy and turn back to unhealthy eating habits. So try to incorporate at least one new recipe into your meal plan a week. For inspiration, you can always search Pinterest or flip through a cookbook for new recipe ideas.
Retrain your Brain
With the right mindset, anything you want to do is achievable. A crucial step in staying motivated to eat healthily is retaining your brain and the way you think and feel about food. It consists of building new habits like being conscious of food portions, and what you’re eating. By creating healthy eating habits, eating healthy becomes second nature to you and you’ll choose healthy eating without even thinking about it.
Remember why
No matter what your goal is, stop and think about why you want to achieve your goal. Is it to lose weight, feel better, or have more energy? Write it down and try to be specific. Post it on your refrigerator or pantry and let it motivate you on those days when you want to eat a whole pack of Oreos.
Set small goals
Don’s try to change all of your eating habits at once. If you want to stay motivated to eat healthily the key is to set small goals that you can achieve daily. Change small things each day, for example, swapping out soda for water or replacing processed foods with something fresh. Gradually work your way into eating healthy.
Don’t forget to be kind to yourself, there’s no such thing as perfect. You’ll have both good and bad days on your journey. So enjoy the process, learn from it, and don’t give up.

im having really a hard time stopping my cravings for AT LEAST vegan cheeses or butter.
my partner gets kind of annoyed if i eat any oils or added sugars so i cant even eat certain cereals, vegan foods etc. now that im being kind of forced to not eat like that, im craving anything, even bread that might have dairy in it :/
the cravings are crazy, but hey… i have lost weight and am more healthy now for my height!
i guess its worth it in the end? not sure! im gonna work on writing a journal entry for reminding me WHY i needed this sort of restriction so thanks for the tips!!!
Cravings have been hitting me too. For me, it’s junk food. That’s good you’ve lost weight through. Journaling for helps put things into perspective when you’re trying to eat better. sure
