September started with more decluttering. It’s started to cool down here. So I started tackling my garage, at first I thought it was going to be a huge task that would take a while. But turns out it’s not as bad as I thought it’d be. Most of the stuff in there will be donated, so it’s mainly going through boxes and sorting things out. As I’m writing this, I’m about halfway through it.
After working on decluttering my garage. I worked on a new cosplay and getting ready to start school in the spring.
RIP hot glue gun and iron
I had plans to start working on my Hisoka cosplay but got sidetrack. I started watching Dororo and fell in love with the series. So instead of working on my Hisoka cosplay. I made a Hyakkimaru cosplay instead. It was easy and only took me a few days. I’ve made robes in the past so I already had a pattern. During the process of building my cosplay, my iron and mini hot glue ended up kicking the bucket. Both, well…blew up.
First went me my iron, I plugged it in to start ironing on my pattern and it sparked and popped, then my power went out. I’ve had my iron for almost ten years, and it wasn’t in the best shape. So I wasn’t surprised. Next, it was my mini hot glue gun. I was using it to glue the shapes on the robe, I stepped away to change to a different playlist. While I was away, I heard a pop. I didn’t know what it was and assumed it was something outside of my apartment. Nope, it was my hot glue, I didn’t figure it out on until it started to cool down. Then I noticed my power was out.I turned the power back on and heard the pop again and saw it spark. I think the culprit is one of the plugs in my room. Because for both I used the same plug, and they went pop. So I’m no longer using that plug. Both will be missed and I’ll never forget them. Because they both left a burn spot on my carpet. Once I replace both I’ll get back to working on Hisoka. I’ve got most of the materials.
Apartment Tour
I had planned on doing an apartment tour when I finished putting my apartment together. Originally, I had planned on being in Kansas City for a while and making it my own. But my plans changed. Since this won’t be my apartment for much longer. Here’s a full apartment tour, and how I decorated it.
Getting ready for School
I had planned on starting to school in fall 2021, but I changed my mind. The sooner I get started the sooner I can get my degree, so I’ve been hard at work getting everything ready to start in the Spring. I was able to meet with my department head, and we put a degree plan together. Her name is Dr. T and she is awesome. I can’t wait to meet her in person, and hopefully, I’ll be able to do a work-study within the department.
I graduated with my associate’s degree in 2012, and I haven’t been back to school since. So, I’m a little nervous about going back after years of being away. But I’m excited to learn something new and meet new people. While living in Kansas City I’ve felt stuck in life. I’ve been doing the same thing and getting the same results. And I haven’t been happy because of it.
It’s been awful jobs after awful jobs, and few opportunities. So it’s time to shake things up and enter into something new. My pockets are going to hurt, but it’ll be worth it in the end.
October Plans & Goals
It’s finally spooky season. Halloween is on a Saturday and there’s a full moon. My plans for the month and to watch some of my favorite fall-themed movies and TV series, eat lots of things with pumpkin spice and make things.
