Sometimes life is hectic and we forget to take care of ourselves in the chaos. But it’s important to find the time to take care of yourself and practice self-care. There are many benefits to practicing self-care. It’s important to know your worth and practice self-care daily to boost your confidence, self-esteem. To remind yourself and others that your needs are important too. But for people dealing with depression self-care can seem unattainable at times. Through feelings of despair and listlessness depression can often leave you feeling like looking after yourself more effort than it’s worth.

The feeling of being overwhelmed is something that kind of creeps up on us very slowly, then hits like a ton of bricks. It often starts subtle making us feel rushed. Then once we’re pushed out of our comfort zones we start losing control bit by bit. We then lose sight of what we are trying to do and most importantly we end up struggling with what we need to get done. As a result, we become negative and start complaining and blaming everyone and everything, but ourselves. It can often leave us feeling stressed and depressed at times. When you find yourself feeling like you can’t handle or cope with circumstances give one of these coping methods a try.

Dealing with depression requires action but, when your feeling depressed taking action might be a difficult thing to do. When your feeling depressed, stressed, or anxious you may feel drained, hopeless, and a lack of drive. Making it difficult to take the steps needed to feel better. It’s important to start small and build from there. Feeling better isn’t an overnight process it takes time but, you can get there making positive choices. Take it one day at a time and soon you’ll find yourself lifted out of the fog of depression and feeling happier, healthier, and more hopeful. Next time you find yourself feeling stressed, anxious, depressed, or overwhelmed try one of these coping strategies.
