Do you want more freedom, independence, and kindness in your life? What if I told you that you could have all this and more through forgiveness and self-acceptance. The road to a positive mindset and increased self-worth starts with forgiveness and acceptance. By embracing everything about yourself, both the good and the bad. Like many, I struggled with both forgiveness and acceptance. Life exposed me to the reality of my flaws, and people who weren’t so nice to me. As a result, I became critical of myself. I strived to be perfect and put myself down whenever I fell short of perfect. Stepping away from the path of attempted perfectionism isn’t an easy one, it goes against what we are taught. If we fail we need to work harder next, instead of doing our best and accepting that our best is good enough. For those who are struggling with forgiveness and self-acceptance, here are some ways to cultivate them in your life.
Much like self-care, Self-love is something that gets thrown around without people truly knowing the meaning. Self-love isn’t only about feeling good about yourself and being confident. It’s about accepting yourself as you are and having an appreciation for yourself. Throughout my life like many, I’ve struggled with self-love. There was a time where I’d look in the mirror and hated what I saw. I lacked confidence, doubted, and put myself. It held me back from trying new things and putting myself out there.
