Climbing the Manitou Incline

June 23, 2021 by Angela Louise 2 Comments
Climbing the Manitou Incline

For my birthday this year, I took a day trip down to Colorado Springs to explore and take on the Manitou Incline. It’s located in Manitou Springs and gains 2,000 feet of elevation from start to finish. It’s a total of 2,768 steps and one tough workout. Most people want to go out for a nice dinner or spend time with their families. Not me, I wanted to challenge myself and climb some stairs. My day started at 4 am because my reservation for the Manitou Incline was at 6:30 am, and I wanted to see the Garden of the Gods before tackling the incline.

Solo Exploring Chicago

October 18, 2019 by Angela Louise 5 Comments
My Solo Chicago Trip

My solo trip to Chicago was full of good food and a lot of walking around the city seeing some of its landmarks. And it ended with me spending time with my little sister and I saw one of my favorite band’s 10th-anniversary show. This wasn’t my first time visiting Chicago, but my first time getting to explore and see the city. So here’s how my solo trip to Chicago went and what I saw and ate.

August Wrap-Up

August Wrap-Up

Hello September & Goodbye August

I had an eventful August I got to hang out with my little sister, see one of my favorite bands, and go to Kansas City’s VegFest. My sister typical visits once a year during the summer while she’s off from school. We always have a great time and do a lot of fun stuff together. I’ve been very busy lately with buying a house and work so it was nice to take a break from that. And get out and do something fun with my sister. I was sad to see her go after all the fun we had but, I can’t wait to see her again next summer and show her the new house.

Succotash, Gardens, and First Friday

July 9, 2018 by Angela Louise 2 Comments

This past Friday my husband and I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary. We spent the day together and visited three different places. We had a lot of fun and got to see more of what Kansas City has to offer. Our first stop was Succotash for breakfast before heading to the Powell Gardens in Kingsville, MO. We ended the day by checking out the First Friday event in the Crossroads District of downtown Kansas City.

Parkville Nature Sanctuary

March 21, 2018 by Angela Louise No Comments
“In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks.” -John Muir
The Parkville Nature Sanctuary is a wildlife preserve and educational site developed and maintained by Parkville, MO with the help of volunteers. Parkville, MO is a historic river town located 5 miles north of downtown Kansas City. The City of Parkville is best known for its antique shops, art galleries, and historic downtown.  I only live about 10 minutes from the nature sanctuary. With the weather getting warmer and my recent purchase of the iPhone X, I’ve been wanting to get out more so I could test out the camera on my new phone. In addition to temperatures being in the 60s, and this being my last Saturday off from work for a while. I decided to check out the Parkville Nature Sanctuary and test out my new iPhone.
