My Struggles With Body Image and Disordered Eating

As I mentioned in my January 2019 wrap-up I wanted to go into more detail about my struggles with body image and disordered eating. My struggles tie into my weight loss journey and began when I had reached my weight goal.  At first, I felt good I had more confidence and my clothes fit comfortably. I was proud of myself to sticking to a healthy diet and exercising regularly. Most importantly I was healthier than I was prior.

When people think of transitioning to healthy eating they dread the thought of having to give up some of their favorite food. The work of making sure that your drinking enough water and eating a well-balanced meal and cutting out fatty foods. But that’s the kind of stress that comes with sticking to a fad diet. So if your eating to lose weight or improve your overall health, eating healthy is a lot easier than you think.

The hardest part of getting in shape is getting started. But getting started at the gym is a bit rough but everyone has to start somewhere. It’s often intimating when you first start going to the gym. You see people who are in shape and confident in what they’re doing but, you have no idea of what you’re doing or where to start.

My Journey to a Healthier Lifestyle

Deciding to transition to a healthier lifestyle was one of the best decisions I’ve made. Four years ago I was overweight, out of shape, and depressed. I weighed over 200 lbs and most of what I ate came from a drive-through window. The only form of daily exercise I got was walking from the couch to the fridge. I was depressed and began to become fed up with my current situation. I wasn’t living a healthy life at all, I was miserable and making poor health choices. So I decided to transition to a healthier lifestyle.
