It’s Here!
After months of designing, planning, and late nights the Socially Awkward Club is open for business. It has been a dream of mine to open an online shop since I graduated high school. But never thought it would be a reality. So I went to college, studied accounting, graduated, and hated doing the 9-5 thing. Creativity was my thing and when I wasn’t pushing through a shift at work I was sewing, drawing, painting, writing or sketching. So I made the decision last year to revisit the idea of opening an online shop. I went from full-time to part-time then quit and put everything I had into making this dream a reality. And I’m excited to be finally sharing this with the world.
What’s the Socially Awkward Club?
The Socially Awkward Club is a small creative project making apparel and merchandise to spread positive awareness about social anxiety and being an introvert. We all feel awkward, uncomfortable, and out-of-place in social situations. I want all you awkward souls to know that you’re not alone. Everyone experiences different levels of social anxiety, it’s ok to feel awkward or prefer the company of a good book. Mental health is complicated, and sometimes knowing that someone is experiencing the same feelings can be validating. You are not alone in struggles someone else has gone through the same thing and they’ve gotten through it and so will you.
I’m just getting started with this so I’m starting off small but, hope to build and grow it over time. There will be new products added to the site each month so keep checking in.
I want to thank everyone who’s been supportive throughout this journey. From modeling shirts to offering your opinion when needed. You all rock and I couldn’t have done it without you.
AWESOME!
Hello,
This is a timely article for me. For the last 8 years, I have worked in technology & I have a well-rounded and in-depth skill set. Recently I left that industry and moved into the editing. About four months into that, however, I ended up in a situation where I am creating websites for a group that is involved in marketing for indie authors which is my target market for editing.
I am working on four websites in fact and they fall within the scope of what you talked about in your experience above. I have always been the type of person you described, and could not be any other way, I would get too bored with life. I could not imagine being the type of person that became content in mediocrity.
Thanks
Thank you for the comment.
It’s nice to break away from the normal and do something different from time to time. My old career was something that wasn’t going to give me that. So branching out to something was for the better.
