November flew by, and I can’t believe 2019 is nearly over. I kicked off the month with a trip to Michigan for Youmacon and visited my family. After that, I took some time to relax and recharge my batteries. I did some painting and caught up on anime and other TV series. Then ended the month with some canceled plans and the materials for a new hobby. So here’s what I did in November as well as my plans for December.
Paint & Chill
One of my favorite ways to relax is to sit in front of a canvas, turn on the TV, half watch it, and paint. I haven’t been able to do much painting since I’ve had a lot going on between preparing for conventions, traveling, and trying to keep things together at home. But since things have finally started to settle down. I’ve been able to paint and catch up on TV shows. I painted two new paintings and finished two paintings I started a while ago. The two new paintings were a sunset over a lake and the other one was Totoro. Then I got caught up Bob’s Burger, My Hero Academia, and watched the new season of BoJack Horseman. After working on projects for blog posts and conventions for the past couple of months. It was nice to switch my brain off and work on things that were just for fun.
The Day After Thanksgiving
Ever since I moved to Kansas City, I’ve wanted to see the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. But, over the last couple of years, the weather hasn’t been the best for the event. This year was no better. The event was scheduled to take place the day after Thanksgiving, and when I checked the weather for that day the forecast called for freezing temperatures and rain. I was hoping the forecast would change, and when I woke up on Friday and checked the weather again. The chance of rain had increased, so I decided to cancel my plans and do something else instead.
I ended going to Zona Rosa, an outdoor mall to do some unplanned Black Friday shopping. This year I had no plans to do any shopping at big businesses because I wanted to support smaller businesses instead. But I had done all my shopping the day before and had some money left over in my budget. Plus, I wanted to get out of the house for a little while since I spent most of the month indoors.
My first stop was the craft store. I bought a crochet scarf kit and a shadowbox. I’ve always wanted to learn and the kit seemed like a good place to start. The kit came with a crochet hook, 150 yards of yarn, a plastic needle, as well as crocheting instructions. I’m excited to learn and to have a new hobby. The shadowbox is for a future DIY blog post, so stay tuned for that.
After the craft store, I went to the bookstore to look at books. I saw a couple that looked interesting but ended up not buying any new books. Then I walked around Zona Rosa before heading home. It was a short outing, but still fun.
December Personal Plans
I’m going to take it easy this month and focus on recharging my batteries. As well as, do some decluttering. My craft closet is a mess, so I’m going to work on cleaning that up. And hopefully, I’ll easier time finding things. Then afterward, I’m going to try and make things out of leftover materials from old projects. I’ll also be doing some more painting. I started a Bambi painting last month, so I’m going to try and finish it this month and work on some new paintings. The new ones will most likely be nature-related since that’s what I enjoy painting the most. I don’t have any Holiday plans since it’s just me. I’ll probably put up a few decorations and watch some holiday-themed movies, but that’s about it. Overall, December should be a chill laid back month for me.
December Blogging Plans
As far as blogging goes, I have all my post ready and scheduled for December. I have a couple of geeky themed craft projects as well as a recipe for a holiday treat. Since all my posts for 2019 have been scheduled until the end of the year, I’ll be spending December focusing on creating a new content calendar for 2020.
Overall, November was a good month, and I’m looking forward to taking December off to relax and enjoy the last bit of 2019. How was your November, and what are you looking forward to in December?

I love your paintings, especially the Totoro one. Crochet is such a fun hobby to pick up, I have been totally neglecting my crochet for the last few months, so this was a good reminder that I need to get back to it. Great job having all of your December posts scheduled already.
Thank you, it was fun painting and I wait to work on new ones. I tried knitting in the past but I couldn’t get the hang of it. So I hope I’ll have an easier time for crocheting.
