Wow, where did the summer go? I can’t believe it’s already August and people are starting to head back to school. July wasn’t the best, but it was an eye-opening month. And I figured out what steps I need to take to put myself on the path to living a happier life. I also worked more on cosplays. So here’s my wrap-up of July and what I have planned for August.
More Cosplay Builds!
Last month I started and finished my Reese from Animal Crossing cosplay. I made it from remnants and whatever I had lying around. When it comes to cosplay, I love putting my own creative flair into a cosplay instead of recreating the character. With Reese, I was inspired by the style of the 1950s. So I wanted to incorporate that into my cosplay. So I used fleece to make the skirt and added a petite coat underneath to give it a poodle skirt look. Then paired it with my white button-up shirt from my Isabelle cosplay. Lastly, I made the apron and ears.
When I put everything together I used an old cheap Halloween wig. I didn’t care for it with cosplay because the color was off and it didn’t really go with the cosplay. I also didn’t like my ear, I made them too big so they were more like bunny ears. Otherwise, I was happy with the way it turned. Since I was using leftover material I knew it wasn’t going to be perfect. But since I’m not going to any conventions in the near future, I’ll make adjustments to the cosplay later on.
I didn’t get to finish my Raisel cosplay. The day I planned on working on it, was spent waiting at the DMV. So, I’ll finish it this month. And start on my next cosplay project. It’s either going to be Scorbunny from Pokemon or Chucky from Child’s Play.
Stress, stress, and stress!
July was full of stress. It was the last month before the election, so everyone at work was scrambling to get things done. And people were taking out their stress and frustration on others. So work wasn’t a pleasant place to be. I also had some stuff in my personal life that I was scrambling to get done. My tags were about to expire and I needed to take care of that otherwise I wouldn’t be able to drive my car. It was also my first time renewing in Missouri, and the process wasn’t simple. I had to do a lot of calling around to get what I needed in order to renew. Luckily, I was able to get it done right before the deadline.
Needless to say, I was under a lot of stress. I tried to stay grounded through it all but there were days where the stress of everything got to me. Work was my main source of stress. So it got me thinking about going back to school to get my Bachelor’s degree. I had been entertaining the idea for a while, but after being buried by stress for most of the month. It was time for something new. So I applied and hoped for the best.
New Chapter
In July I got the new I accepted into the Metropolitan State University of Denver. And starting next fall I’ll be studying lifestyle medicine. My lease will be up in January, so I’ll be moving from Kansas City to Denver. It’ll be the start of a new chapter for me. At one point my goal was to become a full-time blogger and make Kansas City home. But Kansas City is the source of a lot of negative memories. So it’s time to move on.
When I started making the transition to becoming a full-time blogger. It sucked some of the fun out of blogging. I focused more on numbers and looking for paid opportunities. And less on creating content that I wanted to and connecting with others. And after taking a step back and looking at the things I enjoy about blogging. I decided that becoming a full-time blogger wasn’t for me. Long as I can generate enough income to support my blog. I’m okay with it being a hobby. My new focus is getting my degree and becoming a board-certified health and wellness coach.
August Plans
I typically set monthly goals for myself, but with working getting in the way. My goals each month have become to get through the workday without losing it. And to try and stay on track with things in my personal life. August shouldn’t be as bad as last month. The election is over and there won’t be another one until November. Right now I have no plans to work the November election because I know that’ll be a nightmare. So I’m focused on preparing for school and moving to Colorado next year.

I’m so sorry to hear you had so much stress in July, I hope this month will be better for you. It’s definitely closer to you going back to school so that is really awesome! Will you be leaving that apartment and the area completely when you move to Denver for school? It’s good you realized that being a full time blogger isn’t for you and I can def see how quick it is to get stuck looking at numbers and looking for anything that is sponsored … even if it may not be something you really like doing! I can’t wait to hear more about your school journey. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by. Yes, I’ll be leaving Kansas City behind time move to Denver. I’m thinking about getting a lift instead of an apartment. Yeah, it was no fun and really stressful. So I’m back to looking for them here and there to support my blog as a hobby. I’m looking forward to school next year and sharing it with everyone.
