Using fear as Motivation

December 29, 2021 by Angela Louise No Comments
Using fear as Motivation

We are all afraid of something. Rather it is something small or large. It’s something that lives inside of us, some being justified. While others evolve into something irrational. Fear is a tool we developed to keep us safe but over time the line between rational and irrational fears has blurred. Where talking to strangers and coming face to face with a hungry bear evokes the same response. Fear makes sense when you’re face to face with danger. As our society has evolved, we don’t come face to face with danger as often. As a result, our fears often manifest in ways that hold us back from moving forward. Instead of being afraid of coming face to face with danger, we’ve become afraid of uncertainty and things that are unfamiliar. Fear isn’t all bad, it can be used as a tool to push us forward when we embrace it.

Improving your self Motivation

Improving your self Motivation

Struggling to stay motivated towards your goals? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. The good news is there are things you can do to improve your self-motivation. Being self-motivated is important, it gives you control. Some things lie outside of our control. When we lean on something outside of ourselves for motivation, there’s the possibility it can be taken away. Self Soothing with 7 Grounding Exercises

We all tend to get stuck in our heads from time to time. Overthinking or ruminating over things that we can’t change or haven’t happened. It can easily take over our mental space and take us away from what’s going on around us. Grounding is the practice of bringing our awareness back to the here and now. It takes your attention from your thoughts and emotions and it refocuses it on our bodies and the world around us. Grounding exercises help us become present in our lives. Whether it’s day-to-day stress or severe anxiety or depression. Grounding exercises can help you to break the cycle of troublesome mental habits. We are all a student of our own mental and emotional state. When we become more aware of what triggers anxiety or causes us to be overwhelmed. We are able to break those recurring cycles and maintain a healthy response.

How to find Happiness Within

November 24, 2021 by Angela Louise 1 Comment
How to find Happiness Within

What we experience rather it be happiness or suffering is dependent on our current state of consciousness. We have the ability to heal, transform, or grow at any time. One day you’re wealthy, taking exotic trips surrounded by all the lavishes life has to offer. All of that can be gone in an instant, and you’re left feeling lost, empty, and depressed. True freedom, genuine joy, and happiness come when you stop searching outside of yourself and start looking within. By letting go of limiting beliefs and being present.

October Wrap-Up: I survived Midterms

October was a month full of ups and downs. It was the halfway mark of the fall semester which meant it was time for Midterms. Studying for midterms took up a lot of my time, along with work the first part of the month. Though things were hectic at times I was able to get out and do things and crossed some stuff off of my fall bucket list.
