October Wrap-Up: I survived Midterms

October was a month full of ups and downs. It was the halfway mark of the fall semester which meant it was time for Midterms. Studying for midterms took up a lot of my time, along with work the first part of the month. Though things were hectic at times I was able to get out and do things and crossed some stuff off of my fall bucket list.

Midterms

midtermsOctober marked the halfway mark for the semester. Which meant it was time for med-terms. My last semester we didn’t have midterms in the form of tests, instead, we wrote essays for midterms and the final exam. Which wasn’t all that bad, this semester I had a total of 4 midterms. The first part of October I spent it studying and preparing for midterms.

Out of all of them, the one I struggled with the most was my bio lab practical. It was a different type of test format, where we had a minute and thirty seconds at each station. Along with questions to answer. Now that I know what’s like I can better study for the final.

After I finished with all my midterms, it was like a weight being lifted off my shoulders. I did well on all my midterms and passed. All my hard work paid off. I had planned to treat myself to a spa day, but I think I’m going to hold off on that until the end of the semester.

Fall Bucket List

  • Fall hike
  • 13 Floor Haunted House
  • Pumpkin Patch
  • Have a pumpkin spice latte and pumpkin doughnut
  • Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns

I didn’t get to go on a fall hike in the mountains. By the time I had some free time to go, it had already started snowing. WhichDNKN meant there most likely wasn’t going to be in the leaves on the trees. I was disappointed, but there’s always next year. The pumpkin patch I decided to skip. By the time I was done with midterms, I was exhausted and decided to stay home and recharge my batteries.

I kicked off the month with a PSL and pumpkin donut from Dunkin Donuts. I’m not a coffee drinker because the caffeine triggers my anxiety, but I do like to enjoy one PSL in the fall with a pumpkin donut. The Magic of the Jack O’Laterns was fun. I had never been to anything like it before, and it was cool seeing the different pieces they created.

For October I didn’t just do the 13th Floor Haunted House, but also the haunted houses at Elitch Gardens. I enjoyed both. It’s been a while since I’ve been to a haunted house, and the 13

Halloween

halloweenMy Halloween was a nice chill day. I meet up with a friend, and we had breakfast together. Afterward, we went back to her house where we carved pumpkins and watched a movie. It was the first Halloween in a while, that I didn’t spend at home alone watching movies. I’m really grateful that I’ve been able to make friends since I moved to Colorado.

Here comes November…

I can’t believe this year is almost over, as well as the fall semester. I don’t really have plans, for the month other than writing essays and preparing for finals. I was going to go home for Thanksgiving, but I decided to wait until summer break. It’s too cold in Michigan and I don’t want to run the risk of getting stuck. Instead, I’ll be spending with friends.
