Below the Line: How to Get Back Above the Line

Below the Line: How to Get Back Above the Line

There are days when everything feels harder than it should.

A small inconvenience becomes the thing that finally breaks you. A harmless comment feels personal. Your patience disappears. You start catastrophizing, shutting down, snapping at people, or convincing yourself that everything is going wrong.

You’re not necessarily having a bad life.

You’re having a below-the-line moment.

And honestly? We all have them.

The goal isn’t to never go below the line. That’s impossible. The goal is learning to recognize when you’ve crossed it—and knowing how to find your way back.

February Is for Being Gentle With Yourself

February Isn’t Just About Romance—It’s About Being Gentle With Yourself

February Is Loud About Love

Pink aisles. Heart-shaped everything. Ads that suggest love is only real if it’s romantic, loud, partnered, and perfectly curated.

And while I’m not anti-love (or anti-chocolate), February has a quiet way of turning into a measuring stick—of relationships, productivity, happiness, healing. It asks us to perform affection and progress at the same time, even when we’re already tired.

So this is your reminder: February doesn’t belong to romance alone.

It belongs to self-love, appreciation, and softness—especially when life has been heavy.

Learning to Live With Loss: Processing Grief in Real Time

Learning to Live With Loss: Processing Grief in Real Time

Grief is one of the hardest things we face as humans. It doesn’t matter if the loss is sudden or expected, big or small—when love ends in goodbye, our world changes.

I’ve been learning this firsthand after saying goodbye to my cat, Georgia. I adopted her knowing our time might be short, but I didn’t expect how deeply she would become part of my daily rhythm, or how much it would hurt to lose her.

But that’s what grief is. It’s the ache of absence where love used to live.

And while grief is universal, it’s also deeply personal. There’s no single way to experience it, no timeline that makes sense for everyone. But there are ways to move through it with compassion—for yourself, for others, and for the one you lost.

The Soft Girl’s Guide to Surviving Burnout in a Hard World

November 19, 2025 by Angela Louise 2 Comments

You know that kind of tired that sleep can’t fix? That’s burnout — and for soft girls like us, it hits a little differently.
We’re the feelers, the nurturers, the ones who want to show up for everyone (and somehow still look cute doing it). But somewhere between late-night overthinking and early-morning alarms, we forget that softness isn’t weakness — it’s what makes us human.

A good book, a cozy candle, a little sparkle, and a quiet moment to yourself. Sometimes the best kind of self-care is slowing down, getting lost in a story, and letting the rest of the world wait. ✨

This one was a dark and gripping read. The Keeper pulls you into a story filled with secrets, trauma, and the complicated ways people can be shaped by their past. I found myself wanting to keep turning the pages to uncover what was really happening beneath the surface.

It’s the kind of book that stays with you after you put it down—thought-provoking, unsettling, and definitely not a light read. If you enjoy psychological fiction with darker themes and plenty to think about, this one is worth adding to your TBR. 🖤📖
