Now that I have a new stocking to hang by the fireplace, I need some new ornaments to hang on my Christmas tree. And to continue with my theme of video game-related Christmas decor. I decided to go old school with some 8-bit felt Christmas ornaments. To keep it simple, I went with characters and shapes that would be easy to trace and cut-out. So they’re simple to make, and since they’re no-sew, you don’t have to drag out the sewing machine. They also make a great gift to give to a geeky friend. Why buy a Christmas stocking this year when you can make your own. And have one inspired by the bell bag in Animal Crossing instead of a generic boring stocking. This year I’m shaking things up and ditching my traditional holiday decor. And, making geeky video games inspired holiday decor. And to kick things off I starting with a new stocking to hang by the fireplace with care. Animal Crossing is one of my favorite games to play when I’m looking to relax. It’s simple, cute, and creative. You can arrange things to fit your taste and there’s no shortage of things to do in town once you’re settled. I’m looking forward to the release of Animal Crossing New Horizons on Switch and checking out Tom Nook’s new business venture. Even though I lived in Michigan for 12 years, I’ve never been to Youmacon. I already had plans to visit Michigan this year since I haven’t visited in about three years and the convention was around the time I was planning to visit. So I decided that I’d finally check it out.

On Labor Day weekend in Atlanta, GA, thousands of people flock to celebrate dozens of fandoms. It started with one host hotel and now takes over fives host hotels and two of America’s Mart buildings. It hosts hundreds of guest including bands, writers, actors, actresses, and more. To say it’s a giant geek party would be an understatement.

KC Game On

Being someone who is new to the Kansas City area I’m always searching for things to do in the area. During one of my searches, I came across KC Game On. It is a not for profit group that host bi-monthly gaming events. It started off small but has grown over the years to include Kansas City’s premier gaming event KC Game Con. They offer free general admission to get people in the door so that they learn more about esports and understand the gaming culture. This past Saturday I visited KC Game Con and saw how much they had to offer to the Midwest gaming community. The KC Game Con had a lot to offer its guest.
