Why buy a Christmas stocking this year when you can make your own. And have one inspired by the bell bag in Animal Crossing instead of a generic boring stocking. This year I’m shaking things up and ditching my traditional holiday decor. And, making geeky video games inspired holiday decor. And to kick things off I starting with a new stocking to hang by the fireplace with care. Animal Crossing is one of my favorite games to play when I’m looking to relax. It’s simple, cute, and creative. You can arrange things to fit your taste and there’s no shortage of things to do in town once you’re settled. I’m looking forward to the release of Animal Crossing New Horizons on Switch and checking out Tom Nook’s new business venture. But until then I’ve got a cute new Animal Crossing inspired Christmas stocking. So if you’re a fan too and new to sewing then this sewing project is for you.

Animal Crossing Christmas Stocking
What you’ll need
- Yellow Felt
- Brown Craft Felt
- Red Craft Felt
- Red Ribbon
- Sewing machine or needle and thread
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
- Pins
- Ribbon
- Bell Bag Stocking Pattern
Instructions
- Start by tracing the pattern onto your craft felt. Then cut out the shapes and some ribbon.
- Next, sew the right side of the stocking cuff to the wrong side of each stocking at the top. After that, sew the stocking front and back together, starting and stopping at the seam between the cuff and the stocking (don’t sew the side seams of the cuff yet).
- After that, Turn the stocking right side out. Then fold the cuffs up. Pin the right sides of the cuffs together and stitch. Fold the cuff down.
- Lastly, take the ribbon and make a loop the sew the loop together. Then sew the loop onto the inside of the back of the stocking. And place glue the star.
