Date Night Ideas For Couples On A Budget

When people think of date night they tend to think of going out to a fancy restaurant and seeing a movie afterward. While there is nothing wrong with the cliché dinner and movie for some couples going out for dates isn’t within their budget. Dinner at a reasonably priced restaurant ranges anywhere between $30-$40 plus a tip. Movie ticket prices are around $10-$15 per person not to mention the price of snacks like popcorn, drinks, and candy. If you’re a couple that’s trying to pay off debt or trying to save money spending that amount of money on a weekly basis isn’t really doable.

It’s important in any relationship for two people to take time out of their busy schedules and spend quality time together. Financial situations change and couples that were once able to go out on dates weekly may not be able to do so in the future.

With it being Valentine’s Day I wanted to share a few activities that you and your partner can do together. All while staying within your budget. Here are a few date night ideas that are fairly inexpensive but are still fun.

Play A Video Game Together

Playing video games together is a great bonding experience that can help improve your communication and problem-solving skills. It’s fun to work together as a team to achieve and a common goal, celebrate victories, and mourn losses.

Cook Together

Cooking together is fun, and half the cost of going out. You still get to enjoy a delicious meal but, there’s no check to pay at the end. It also more of a romantic experience compared to dining at a crowded restaurant.

Have A Movie Night

Avoid the lines, the overpriced concession stand, and the other little annoyance that comes with going to the movie theater and have a movie night at home. Get comfy on the couch with some of your favorite snacks and enjoy a movie at home together.

Indoor Picnic

Move the furniture out of the way and lay down a blanket and enjoy a picnic indoors. You don’t have to worry about transporting the food to a location, dealing with bugs, or any other annoyance that comes with eating outdoors.

Do A Puzzle Together

Puzzles are easy to find fairly inexpensive so pick out a puzzle and work together to complete it. Once you’re finished you can glue the puzzle together and frame and have a little memento of the time you spent together.

More Date Night Ideas:

  • Go For  A Nature Walk
  • Create A Scrapbook Together
  • Stargazing
  • Bike Riding
  • Visit A Museum
  • Read A Book Together

It takes a bit of creativity but you can still have fun as a couple without breaking the bank.
