Overwatch has occupied a lot of my time lately because of the Lunar New Year, Year of the Dog event, and the new skins. Last summer I made a D.va inspired throw pillow and, asked for suggestions on what other Overwatch characters I should do. One of the suggestions was that I do a Pachimari. So I decided to get rid of some remnants left over from other projects and finally make a Pachimari throw pillow. The pattern for this project is inspired by one of the Pachimari player icons. It’s a simple project that’s great for beginners who are still working on sewing straight lines. This project doesn’t require a lot of supplies or material to make.

Pachimari Throw Pillow

You will need:

  • 1/2 Yard of Dark Pink Fleece
  • Candy Pink Craft Felt Sheet
  • Antique White Craft Felt Sheet
  • White Craft Felt Sheet
  • Black Craft Felt Sheet
  • Apple Green Craft Felt Sheet
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Freezer Paper
  • Iron
  • Poly-Fil
  • sewing machine or needle and thread
  • Pachimari Pattern

Instructions

  1. Print out the pattern provided place freezer paper over the pattern with the non-waxy side of freezer paper facing up then trace the design onto the freezer paper. Then cut out the design.
  2. Place shapes on craft felt with the waxy side facing down. Then with your iron set to low lightly iron the shapes to the felt. Then cut each shape out of the felt and remove then remove the freezer paper.
  3. Once all of your shapes have been cut out then use your hot glue gun to assemble Pachimari and set aside.
  4. Cut out 2  18″ x 18″ squares of dark pink fabric for the front and back sides of the pillow.
  5. Pin the front and back right sides together. Sew along the edges with a straight stitch leaving a small opening for turning.
  6. Trim all 4 corners, at an angle, to reduce bulk. Making sure not to cut too close to the seam opening.
  7. Making sure all pins have been removed, turn pillow right side out. Center and hot glue Pachimari to your throw pillow.
  8. Take your poly-fil and begin stuffing your throw pillow.
  9. Lastly, using a blind/ladder stitch close your throw pillow.

Notes:

  • If you don’t have freezer paper you can just cut out the pattern and pin it to your fabric.
  • You can hand sew or glue the pillow together if you don’t have access to a sewing machine.
