Parkville Nature Sanctuary

March 21, 2018 by Angela Louise No Comments
“In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks.” -John Muir
The Parkville Nature Sanctuary is a wildlife preserve and educational site developed and maintained by Parkville, MO with the help of volunteers. Parkville, MO is a historic river town located 5 miles north of downtown Kansas City. The City of Parkville is best known for its antique shops, art galleries, and historic downtown.  I only live about 10 minutes from the nature sanctuary. With the weather getting warmer and my recent purchase of the iPhone X, I’ve been wanting to get out more so I could test out the camera on my new phone. In addition to temperatures being in the 60s, and this being my last Saturday off from work for a while. I decided to check out the Parkville Nature Sanctuary and test out my new iPhone.

Planet Comicon Recap Part 3

Day 3

The last day of Planet Comicon didn’t have much going on. Just a few panels, photo ops, and celebrity meet and greet sessions. I originally planned on wearing my Scarlet Witch cosplay but ended up changing my mind. I ended up wearing my Rocko cosplay from Rocko’s Modern Life instead.

Planet Comic Con Recap Part 2

Day 2

Saturday was my favorite day of Planet Comicon. I started the day super nervous and filled with anxiety because I was going to show Skottie Young my cosplay of one of his characters from his comic book series I Hate Fairyland. Skottie Young is an artist and writer who has done projects for Marvel and the comic book adaptations of the Oz books. He is one of my favorite comic book artist and writers and I’m a big fan of his series I Hate Fairyland.

Planet Comicon 2018 Recap Part 1

February 19, 2018 by Angela Louise 1 Comment

Day 1

Planet Comicon is the largest comic book and pop culture convention in the Kansas City area. It’s a Three Day event that features an array of comic books, gaming, fantasy, sci-fi, television, and film. It wasn’t easy getting everything together for the convention I ended up waiting until about a month out from the convention to buy my admission and by that time parking reservations for the parking garage were completely sold out. I was starting a new job and wasn’t sure if I would be able to get the days off I need to attend the convention.

Luckily I was able to get the time off. I also had a bit of trouble getting my cosplay together I ordered the materials online but because of the weather, it arrived later than expected. So I didn’t have as much time to build my cosplays. I managed to get everything put together after a few late nights. I had a lot of fun at the convention and I plan on attending the convention next year.
