Improving your self Motivation

Improving your self Motivation

Struggling to stay motivated towards your goals? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. The good news is there are things you can do to improve your self-motivation. Being self-motivated is important, it gives you control. Some things lie outside of our control. When we lean on something outside of ourselves for motivation, there’s the possibility it can be taken away. With self-motivation, you are much more likely to commit to what you’re doing and push yourself. It’s ideal to find your motivation from within instead of someone else. Plus it puts into perspective where you are and how you can improve yourself moving forward.

Building a Vision Board

We all have goals in life that we’re trying to achieve. It’s not always easy staying focused on our goals. Things don’t always go as planned, we get thrown off track, and lose focus on our goals. One way to help us stay focused is by making a vision board. They help you visualize your goals and remind you to stay on track. When you can visualize then you can achieve it. Where to start in Finding Your Purpose

Where to start in Finding Your Purpose

When I was 18, I started community college to become a graphic design artist. At the time it made sense. Art was one of my interests, and if I were to pick a career to stick with for the rest of my life, then a career in one of my interests made sense. Boy was I wrong. After classes, I decided I enjoyed doing graphic design as a hobby but didn’t want to turn it into a career. I ended up changing my major to accounting. I had taken it in high school, and it was a subject I enjoyed and did well in. Like graphic design, it didn’t stick and I found myself struggling through my classes.

I ended up graduating from community college with a general associate’s degree with no idea of what to do next. For years I struggled to find my purpose, I played around with the idea of going back to school and looked into different career paths, but nothing felt right. It wasn’t until I reframed my thinking that I was able to find my purpose.

Shifting from Irrational Thinking to Rational Thinking

Shifting from Irrational Thinking to Rational Thinking

It’s not uncommon for your thoughts to shift to the worst possible scenario when we’re faced with something stressful, overwhelming, or embarrassing.  I have anxiety, and when I faced with any type of social situation. My mind tends to turn to irrational thinking and I jump to worst before it even happens. Thoughts of how I’m going to make a fool out of myself or how everyone won’t like me swirl around in my head.  And I scare myself out of trying. But in reality, none of this is true. Our thinking can either motivate us to try new things or hold us back. So let’s look at the differences between irrational and rational and how to shift our thinking. So we can live life to the fullest.
