Building a Vision Board

We all have goals in life that we’re trying to achieve. It’s not always easy staying focused on our goals. Things don’t always go as planned, we get thrown off track, and lose focus on our goals. One way to help us stay focused is by making a vision board. They help you visualize your goals and remind you to stay on track. When you can visualize then you can achieve it. A vision board serves as a visual representation of your goals and helps to motivate you towards them

What’s a Vision Board?

A vision board is a tool used for visualization. It’s a collage of images that represent your dreams and goals. It can either be physical or digital.

Benefits

“Your brain will work tirelessly to achieve the statements you give your subconscious mind. And when those statements are the affirmations and images of your goals, you are destined to achieve them!” – Jack Canfield

If we don’t have a clear direction of where we’re going then it’s easy to get caught up in things that hold us back. It’s like a map, it gives you a clear picture of where you’re going. It helps us not get caught up in things that aren’t good for us. Like a map would keep us from turning down the wrong street or provide a route to help us get back on track. For instance, things don’t always go as planned, and we get thrown off track. Vision boards are a reminder to get back on the path of achieving your goals.

How to Build a Vision Board

A vision board is customizable, and there’s no one way to make one. Rather it’s digital, such as your phone or computer background, or physical like a board or a page in a journal. If you’re making a physical version, here is some basic supplies you may want to start with:

  • A board for your base. For example, a corkboard, poster board, or whiteboard.
  • Something to secure your images to your board. This will vary depending on what type of board you use.
  • Things that resonate with your and your goal. These are images, objects, or phrases.

Putting it Together

Once you’ve gathered your supplies, then it’s time to start building your vision board. Here’s one way to go about making your board:

  1. Set a clear intention by asking yourself, ” what am I trying to manifest?’ Some ideas to help you get started:
    • Travel
    • Abundance
    • Finances
    • Education
    • Love
    • Happiness
    • Mindset
    • Health
    • Life goals
  1. Once you have a clear image of what you’re trying to manifest, find images and objects that represent your goal.
  2. Here comes the fun part! Start arranging what you’ve gathered onto your board. Remember there’s no right or wrong way to make a vision board. So have fun with.
  3. Lastly, find a place for it. For the best results, you’ll want to put it in a place where you can look at your vision board daily for inspiration.

As time passes after building your vision board, your goals may change, and your board will need updating. How often you change your vision board is up to you. It could be monthly, yearly, or wherever you want to revamp it. Only you know what’s best since it’s what you’re visualizing.

One thing to remember when building a vision board is change doesn’t happen without action. A vision board is simply a tool to aid you in reaching your goals. It’s there to help you visualize and stay motivated towards your goals.
