February 2019 Wrap-Up

Goodbye February, Hello March

The month of February flew by so quickly. I didn’t get to a lot of things that I wanted to complete in February, but I did get some stuff done. Took a break from working on home improvement projects, this month and did some work on my Planet Comicon Cosplays. I also worked on some crafts projects, improved my self-esteem and body image, and made some plans for March. So here’s my wrap-up of February.

Weekly Selfie Challenge

Well, I didn’t post a selfie each week of February,  but 3 out of 4 isn’t that bad. At the start, I was really nervous and didn’t really want to do it. But it got easier after posting my first selfie. Posting selfies did help me my anxiety, and I don’t feel as anxious. I’m not going to make it a habit and post a selfie weekly. But I will try to step outside my comfort zone more and turn the camera around.

Cosplay Progress & Crafts
Finn’s New Hide

February Wrap-Up

I love doing crafts and I’m always thinking of new things to build. I didn’t do any of the ones for the house that I mentioned in my January 2019 Wrap-Up. I’ve wanted to make my hedgehog Finn a new hide for a while. And was going through my remnants and fabrics to figure out what I needed to buy for my cosplays. And came across some red felt and decided to make Finn a new hide that looked like a tomato. I told my husband that I was going to make a Finn a tomato hide and he gave me a strange look. Then I got to work on sewing Finn a new hide.

First I sketched out the shapes for the pattern, then I taped it together to test it out. After that, I cut out all the shapes and started sewing them together. I’m really happy with the wayFebruary Wrap-Up it turned out since it was a random project I thought of looking at remnants. Finn loved and uses his new hide, the only downside to it is it’s hard to get him out. Unlike his igloo, I can’t just lift it and pick him up. With his tomato hide, I have to use food to get him to come out. Unfortanly for him when he comes out its to do his least favorite thing take a bath.

New Cosplays

Last month I finally started on my cosplays for Planet Comicon. This year I plan on finishing all the cosplays I started last year but, I decided to make some new ones for the convention. So I started working on Bulma from Dragon Ball, Coraline, Kairi from Kingdom Hearts and Uhura from Star Trek last month.

I got a lot done with Bulma since it was mainly accessories I had to make, and they were all easy to build. For Kairi, I made the pattern for the dress and got the pieces cut out and pinned. It’s the one that’ll take me the longest since I’m making it from scratch. I didn’t make any progress on Coraline or Uhura since there’s not much to do for those. For Coraline, I have to make the dragonfly hairclip and the looking stone. Then Uhura I’m either going to make the tricorder a communicator.

March Plans

Blogging Plans

Since March is National Reading Month, my blog post will focus on the value of reading. I love reading, and how it transports you to another world. I’ve been in a bit of reading funk lately, and I’m hoping to get out of it this month. So if you have any suggestions for books or graphic novels, feel free to leave them in the comment section. And to kick it off National Reading month sharing some free printable bookmarks in my next blog post. So stay tuned.

Personal Plans

This month I plan on finishing my cosplays for Planet Comicon and finalizing my plans for the convention. Since it’s the end of this month. I’m confident that I can get everything done long as I stay focus. And to go along with National Reading Month I’m going to read some of the books that have sat on my shelf for a while. My goal is to read at least 5 of them this month. One thing I’m looking forward to this month is seeing my little sister. For her spring break, she’s will be visiting me and I have a lot of fun stuff planned for her visit. March will be a fun and busy month for me. Do you have any fun plans for the month of March? Let me know down below.
