Life Update

It’s been a while since my last blog post. So I’m here to explain what I’ve been up to and why I haven’t been posting and you all a life update. I haven’t been consistent with blogging or social media because I don’t have a lot of downtime between work and school. If I’m not at work, I’m working on assignments for classes and studying for an exam. It’s winter break now, so I won’t have school to worry about so I can work on blogging and other projects. And hopefully, build back up my bank of posts and get to posting a few times a month again. I want to fill you all on in what’s been going on with me in the last few months and share some things I have planned for the future.

RIP Finn, and Bmo

Let’s get the sad news out of the way first both Finn the hedgehog and Bmo have passed away. I miss both of them very much and have no plans of getting a new pet anytime soon.

3 more Semesters to go!

Being a student again has been a rollercoaster. Spring semester kicked my butt and I was ready to drop out. But I toughed it out and made it to the end of the school year. Currently, I’m in my junior year with one more school year to go. I’ve learned a lot in my studies and have met some fantastic people along the way. As a student, I’m not only learning the curriculum taught in my classes but life lessons as well. I’m someone who always strives for perfection and when I fall short of it. I look at myself as a failure. Being in school has made me readjust my thinking. My best is good enough. Though it is a good mentality to reach for the stars it isn’t good to beat yourself up when you don’t reach them. I’m learning to not be so hard on myself, and that my best is good enough.

Changing my Relationship with Social Media

Not only did I step away from blogging, but I also stepped away from social media. My relationship had become unhealthy and I needed to step away and live in the moment. When I was on social media I felt the need to constantly post and do things to boost the algorithm. As result, I stopped living in the moment because I felt like I had to document everything on social media. If I went to an event I was more focused on getting the perfect photo instead of enjoying the moment. Being away from social media has been a breath of fresh air and I’ve been able to enjoy things more because I haven’t been so focused on posting on social media. I do plan on returning to social media, but with a different mindset and a new relationship with social media.

What’s to come!

It’s a new year, and a great time to make changes and set goals. For the new year, my goal is to make time for the things I enjoy. I’ve been so caught up with school and work that everything else has fallen to the sideline. I’ve also been very stressed out because I’m either a student or I’m an employee. I don’t have time to be myself and do the things that I enjoy. So in the new year, I’m making it a priority to prioritize myself and the things that I love. I’ll be working on cosplays again, going to conventions, and blogging regularly.

Travel Plans

In 2023, I plan on traveling more. It’s been a while since I’ve traveled for fun. So I have a few trips planned for 2023. To kick off the new year I’m taking a solo trip to Las Vegas, Nevada to explore the city. After that in the spring, I’ll be leaving the country for the first time to visit London and Dublin. After that, I’ll head to Michigan to spend time with my family. Then I’ll probably take a little break before making any more travel plans.

Cosplay Plans

My goal is to attend at least 2 conventions this year. DragonCon will be one of them. I haven’t picked a second convention yet. Another goal I have for the year is to work on at least one cosplay a month. With school, I think it’ll be doable to work on one project at a time in my free time. I’m looking forward to getting back into cosplay and getting back into conventions. They’re both something I’ve really missed doing since school started, and I know bring a huge amount of joy back into my life.

Blogging Plans

My goal for blogging is to post at least two times a month. I’ve got a bunch of ideas for topics, recipes, and DIY  projects that I can’t wait to share with you all. While I’m on winter break, I’ll be working hard to build back up my bank of posts so that’ll be successful with my goal this year. I’m also planning to be a little more active on social media and post to my Instagram more. As well as get back to filming videos for my YouTube channel.

I just want to say thank you to everyone who checked in on me while I was away. I appreciate you all and your continued support.
