October Wrap-up: spooky fun

My favorite month of the year has come and went. October was a fun spooky month full of my favorites. The weather is cooler, pumpkin spice was everywhere, and it’s a perfect time to watch Over the Garden Wall. Even though, my focus for October was relaxing and having some spooky fun. I did search for a place in Denver. I also made some progress on my Hisoka cosplay.

Hisoka Cosplay Progress

I finally started working on my Hisoka cosplay in October. My new hot glue gun and iron arrived so I can get back to working on cosplays and other craft projects. I’ve been watching Hunter x Hunter thanks to COVID. It’s a long series so I keep starting Hisoka Cosplayand not finishing, but since COVID, ate my social life, I have more time to watch anime. As I’m writing this I’m in the Greed Island arch. My favorite character is Killua with Hisoka being a runner up.

Villains are one of my favorite types of characters to cosplay. They’re the complete opposite of who I am so it’s fun to pretend to be the bad guy. Hisoka was easy to build. I’m not completely done with it. I started with the base of his outfit then built off that. I’m waiting for my earrings to come, and I haven’t decided what wig to get for it yet. Lastly, I need to clean it up and put some finishing touches on it. So I probably won’t fully finish it for a while.

Spooky Saturdays

My fall bucket list is simple this year. Most of my usual events are canceled this year, and I’m an introvert working an extrovert job. So I rather spend my time recharging my batteries than out and about. So I turned the Saturdays in October into spooky Saturdays. I wrote down a bunch of movies on slips of papers then put them in a jar. And drew one each Saturday to watch. I ended the month with my favorite mini-series Over the Garden Wall.Spooky Saturdays

I’m really indecisive, so picking movies at random helped cut down the time it would have taken me to pick a movie. I added some other movies to the jar that weren’t fall themed. It’s now my new method of picking movies.

Virtual apartment/loft searching

In October I started my search for a new place in Denver. Instead of seeing them in person, I decided to do virtual tours. It made more sense to save money by not going in person. And then I could use the money I saved for the move-in cost. I looked at a loft and an apartment. I like both, but I wasn’t in love with either. The loft had a better virtual tour. The leasing agent took her time and explained everything, while the apartment was quick here it is. I reached out to one of the student ambassadors for suggestions. So I’m still hunting for a place in Denver.

Halloween

Halloween was on Saturday this year. There weren’t a lot of events this year so before the month started I had already decided to stay in. I watched my all-time favorite mini-series Over the Garden Wall. It’s my obsession. If it’s Over the Garden Wall I have to have it. I dressed up even though I didn’t go out. I was planning on being Chucky for Haloween, but I got a surprise bill. So instead of spending money on something new I wore something I ready had. I ended up wearing my Rocko cosplay since it’s simple.

November goals and plans

For November my plans are to get everything ready to move. I’m planning on making my move to Denver next month. So I need to get my plans in order and decide what I’m bringing. I know my new place will likely be smaller, so some things will be left behind. My goals are to decide on a place. I prefer a loft over an apartment, but we’ll see what happens.
