September Recap

September was super busy for me. I spent most of the month working and moving but, was able to get out to the renaissance festival and have a little fun. It was also Finn and I’s first month together. Even though my September wasn’t very eventful I’m really looking forward to October I have a few things planned this month and I’m excited to decorate my house for Halloween and meet more of my new neighbors.

Buying A House

Let me just start off by saying buying a house is a stressful process but, it’s totally worth it. I’ve lived in 5 different apartments in the past 6 years all of which had the typical issues you would associate with apartment living. But, that’s all over for me now, after years of savings and a month of house searching. I’m finally a homeowner!
I was nervous about taking the steps toward owning a home. It’s a big responsibility and if something breaks there’s no maintenance to come and fix it.

My husband and I looked at about 8 house but, each house we saw we kept comparing it to the first one we saw. It was a 5 bedroom 4 1/2 Bath home that was slightly over our budget. We ended up making the seller an offer and they excepted so we ended up getting the house we wanted and sticking to our budget.

Even though I was nervous I’m glad me and my husband bought a house. It’s a change from living in apartments but a good one. I’m looking forward to making it our own and giving gardening a try.

Rennisance Festival

I have been to a renaissance festival in four years.  So it was a treat to get to go after all the crazy of buying and house and moving. I didn’t get the chance to dress up because I didn’t have time to put something together. But I would like to next year and dress up as Ciri from the Witcher 3.

The highlight of the festival for me was getting to see the jousting when I went 4 years ago we got to the arena late and ended up missing most of it. So it was nice to actually get to see it in full. My husband and I mainly walked around visited some of the shops and watched the performances. But a trip to the renaissance festival isn’t complete without eating one of their smoked turkey legs. At least that’s what my husband thinks for me its one of the funnel cakes. Since I’m not moving around with the military anymore I’m looking forward to getting to go to the renaissance festival each year and seeing what attracts they’ll add.

Meet Finn

If you follow my Instagram you’ve might have seen this little guy in my story. Let me introduce you to my hedgehog Finn. He’s about three months old and loves exploring. I don’t have many pictures of him because I can’t get him to sit still unless there’s food.

I ended up deciding to get a hedgehog after doing some research on pets that are good for people with allergies. Hedgehogs were one of the suggestions and after further research, I started looking for a breeder in my area.

I ended up finding a breeder and picked him up the end of August. He’s named him after Finn from Adventure Time since he loves running around exploring and getting into things. It has been a long time since I’ve had a pet so it’s been great having him become apart of the family.

Thank you for reading! Even though September wasn’t really all that eventful for me I’m really looking forward to October. I’m all moved into the new house and have a lot more free time. Plus Halloween is my favorite holiday and I can’t wait to get started on my costume. How was September and what are you looking forward to the most for October? Let me know in the comment section below. 😀
